Breakdown
•Organic Course Cane Sugar
Also known as granulated sucrose is typically derived from either the stalks of sugarcane plants or from sugar beets. Sugar is a naturally gentle abrasive which helps to remove dead skin from your face, lips and body to restore and refresh tired, clogged pores.
•Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. Coconut oil is a type of fat that has been touted for its health-promoting properties and benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin hydrated and moisturized along with helping heal wounds. Coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria. Which is important for skin health, as many types of skin infections, including acne, cellulitis, folliculitis and athlete's foot, are caused by bacteria or fungi.
•Grapeseed Oil
Grapeseed oil is a byproduct of winemaking. After wine is made by pressing grapes, grape seeds are left behind. Grapeseed oil is extracted from these leftover grape seeds. Grapeseed oil is used as a natural beauty product. Grapeseed oil contains a powerful antioxidant ingredient called proanthocyanidin. This antioxidant may even out skin tone when it’s used on your skin. Being that grape-seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties, contains high levels of linoleic acid, and doesn't clog pores, it is a commonly used moisturizer for acne-prone and sensitive skin.
•Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that helps protect your cells from damage. Vitamin E is found naturally in our bodies, in certain foods and derived from vegetable oils, primarily soybean oil. This essential nutrient occurs naturally in many foods. Vitamin E fights off free radicals on the skin, which are a result of daily environmental stressors like unprotected sun exposure and air pollution. Additionally, vitamin E has moisturizing and healing benefits.
•Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil is the liquid produced in the seed of the simmondsia chinensis plant, a shrub, which is native to southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico. Jojoba oil is deeply-hydrating and easily absorbed into skin. It deeply penetrates to soothe and soften while providing an excellent moisturizing effect and adding a healthy glow.
Because Jojoba oil is very similar to our own skin oils, it immediately penetrates skin and smoothes easily, helping to promote healthy, glowing skin without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue. Jojoba oil doesn’t evaporate like water based moisturizers, so it’s long lasting.
Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory properties that keep skin calm and comfortable. It also naturally deters microbes, helping to prevent the growth of bacteria on skin. This property makes it useful for those with acne, and provides an added wound-healing benefit. Jojoba is full of nutrients like Vitamin E and B, as well as antioxidants and minerals like chromium, copper, and zinc, which all nourish and protect skin. Jojoba oil can help fade fine lines and wrinkles. The jojoba oil we used in our products is organic and cold-pressed which provide the highest level of antioxidants and nutrients.
•Shea Butter
Shea butter is a fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree. Its high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids combined with its easy-to-spread consistency make it a great product for smoothing, soothing, and conditioning your skin. Is high in antioxidants that nourish and protect the skin, promoting cell repair and rejuvenation.
•Flavor Olis
Flavor oils are used to scent your lips. These flavor oils are oil soluble, are vegan friendly and cruelty free, and are free of gluten and parabens. Flavor oils are lip-safe fragrances. No Artificial Sweeteners,Sugar Free, Gluten Free, Contain No Vegetable Oils, Certified Kosher.
•Natural Mica Mineral Powder Colorant
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral dust often used in makeup foundations. Micas are a powder colorant which usually contain a slight to intense shimmer. In geology, mica refers to a group of metamorphic minerals. Metamorphic rocks and minerals are formed from pre-existing rocks by exposure to extreme heat and pressures. Micas come in many different forms due to the wide array of ways in which they can form within the earth. In fact, there are more than 20 different kinds of mica mineral. Mica minerals come in a variety of naturally occurring colors. Once the mica mineral is mined, it’s coated with FD&C colorants, pigments or a combination of both to achieve different colors.
Made from a mix of mica and iron oxides, which both readily occur in nature and can be considered natural. If the mica is colored with FD&C colorants, the mica is not considered natural.
Directions
Take mini cosmetic spatula ( included ) and scoop out a pea-sized amount (a little goes a long way) of Lip Sugar Polish. Place Polish on your moistened lips and massage Polish gently onto lips using circular motions with your finger tips. After massaging Polish onto lips gently rub your lips together. Lip polish is flavored and non-toxic, making it safe if it’s entered your mouth. Let set for 1 minute then rinse off excess sugar with damp washcloth.
Can be used 2 to 3 times a week.
Note:
It is highly recommended that you store scrub in a cool, dry place when not in use. Do not allow water to enter into the jar when using the scrub, as the water can cause mold growth. COLD WEATHER: If your lip scrub arrives hardened, this is because the oils in our scrubs harden when exposed to cold weather for a long period of time (during shipping). To soften, place your lip scrub in the microwave for five seconds at a time until softened.
